Mel Gibson’s Film "The Passion of the Christ" A Real Evangelistic Tool
It was really exciting for me this week to hear from a young man in C3 who told me that his decision to follow Christ came as a result of seeing ’The Passion’, which I showed to them on Good Friday. It made me realise again what a powerful tool we have with these films that are available to us. There are about 4 young men in that room now sharing from the Bible every evening. I realised this week we are so privileged to have the freedom of sharing Christ with these young men. Adrian has put together a Bible Study for new believers where they can answer questions (having to look up Scripture) and hand it in to be marked. I want to do this with these guys in C Section. The problem here is that any of them can go home or be sentenced at any time and we lose them - but I still want to give it a try.
Please pray for ALVIN who has been sent out of the Single Cells to the Main Section. I saw him yesterday and he was looking really upset and nervous. He told me that he had just been beaten up by the ’28’ gangsters for not wanting to join them (he used to be a ’28’). He is due to be transferred to Medium B shortly.
Something on gossip: In the prison we are forever hearing that ’so and so is dead - shot by gangsters’ etc. This week I heard from three different sources that one young man Adrian and I have known for a number of years had been shot by gangsters. When we asked a warden who lives near this guy to check up for us - he told us that he is in fact over at Maximum Prison awaiting trial for another case! Proverbs 24/28
Latest on FAIZEL who are following the Parole Saga - I am going to a hearing tomorrow with Pastor Clive to hear about a date for his release - well thats what they say!!
ALISTAIR (who received a life sentence a few weeks ago) turned up to Adrian’s programme today - the first time since his sentencing. He seems to be struggling with issues but at least he is keeping in contact.
